AVASW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPLICATION

To All Members of AVASW:

We are currently seeking four new AVASW Executive Committee members. These are 2 year commitments.

Member-At-Large Retired - Provides outreach to retirees and previous employees, writes a quarterly BLOG  article about life after the VA, serves on the Membership subcommittee, participates in projects, membership drives, contests, and serves as POC for the Jerry Satterwhite Hall of Fame Award.

Member-At-Large Staff- Provides outreach to retirees and previous employees, writes a quarterly BLOG article about life at the VA, serves on the Membership subcommittee, participates in projects, membership drives, contests, and serves as POC for facility representatives.

President - Responsible for running AVASW meetings monthly and as needed for other duties. Assists with the contact us requests. Appoints members as needed. Ensures committees are assigned and functioning. Participates in some national meetings and conferences when they involve the AVASW. Provides communication to SW leadership and members as appropriate. Please note this is a 4 year commitment. 2 years as president and two years as past president assisting with transition and educational opportunities.

President Elect - Acts as President in the absence of the President. Participates in Executive Committee meetings, conference calls, and email. Serves as the primary responder to the "Contact Us" inquiries, serves as the Executive Chair of the Membership Support & Outreach Committee and leads special projects or task groups as needed. Please note, this is a 4 year position. You will have 2 years as the president elect and 2 years as the president.

 

Nominations - Manages new membership enrollment. Assists with SW of the year nominations and awards. Is on the committee for special recognitions and other committees as appointed. 

*Special Appointment:

Webdesigner: This is a permanent placement decided by the executive committee. The webdesiger will be responsible for updating the website, assisting with social media posts, assisting with blog posts, sending out messages from the committee, assisting with the digital aspect of the conference, sending information to executive members, monitoring elections and nominations submitted and other duties as assigned. There is monetary compensation for this position.

Outreach Coordinator: This is a permanent placement decided by the executive committee. The outreach coordinator will be responsible for updating the social media pages, the shop, and leading the team for annual conferences.
