To All Members of AVASW:
We are pleased to announce 3 Executive Committee offices will open as of January 2021.
Each term will last two years. As a member of the Executive Committee, you will help to support your colleagues throughout the VA Healthcare System, promote the social work profession, and enhance your leadership skills. Being an officer on the AVASW Executive Committee is a rewarding personal and professional learning experience.
This year we have openings for Secretary, Treasurer, and Retired-Member-At-Large.

Secretary - Keeps records (minutes) of Executive Committee meetings and conferences. Posts minutes and saves documents to website. Assists with creating and maintaining official AVASW documents. Participates in Executive Committee conference calls, meetings and e-mails. Treasurer - Manages the funds of the association, including paying association expenses. Answers inquiries from members and prospective members regarding membership status and criteria for joining AVASW or renewing membership. Provides financial reports to AVASW Executive Committee. Participates Executive Committee conference calls, meetings and e-mails. Member at Large Retired - Provides outreach to retired members and previous employees. Writes quarterly blog about life after employment. Serves on the membership sub-committee. Participates in projects, membership drives, contests, and serves at the POC for the Jerry Satterwhite Hall of Fame Award.
